Forum:Create donation page for Shoutwiki
Forums: Index → Community help
I do not see any way people can donate large or small amounts of money to support Shoutwiki. I suggest asking for donations on the main page, and providing some means to do so. Such as PayPal, checks, credit cards, etc..
Or maybe a link in the sidebar on all pages: "Donate". That way I and others have a page I can point possible donors too. Many donors may have questions. So the talk page for that donation page can be used for that. --Timeshifter (talk) 12:39, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- We don't accept donations. I'm fairly sure we've said this multiple times but I can't find a link to an explanation of why we don't. I'll provide one later when I'm not in a lesson. --Lewis Cawte (talk) 09:37, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- I want to point people and donors I know to worthy causes. And wiki farms, wikipedia, wikimedia projects, and wikis anywhere are some of my favorite causes. I find it bizarre that a wiki farm would not accept donations. I just searched the forums (via the search box here) for "donation" and found nothing other than this thread. I also searched all namespaces (advanced tab) in this hub wiki via Special:Search and found nothing other than this thread. A lot of people give money to causes and organizations this time of year. --Timeshifter (talk) 13:30, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Is Shoutwiki (as a whole) still not accepting donations? I use Paypal to donate. For example; to support LibreOffice, etc.. I want to help Shoutwiki get the most bandwidth and best servers/hosts. Maybe some more staff help (maybe on a consulting or temp worker basis).
Another possibility: I would be willing to pay $5 for each database dump I do on my wiki. --Timeshifter (talk) 05:29, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
