Forum:Cross search categories?
Forums: Index → Community help
Hi, I have been editing my native language Wikipedia for a while, but this is my first day trying to run a wiki on my own. I am managing fairly well, but I have just realized that I am in need of a tool or a feature that allow users to cross search categories. For example, the user wants to perform a search that results in a list of all pages in my wiki that are both in Category:A and in Category:B. Is there any easy way the user could do this? The wiki is set to private mode/only invited users during basic construction, but if it is necessary for using external tools the mode could be changed later. Would PetScan work if the wiki mode is set to public? I am very grateful for any help or advice. UlrikaYlva (talk) 20:54, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
- Dynamic Page List (DPL2) is an extension that allows listing pages based on multiple criteria, including categories. For example, the following XML would produce a list of pages that are in both categories
<dpl> category = Something category = Other </dpl>
Something
andOther
. DPL has a lot of other options for selection and output format. --Saftzie (talk) 20:19, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
