I would like to embed some external videos on my wiki. These are the following:
- http://media3.steampowered.com/steam/apps/81007/movie_max.webm
- http://content.bethsoft.com/bsw_cms_asset/27491_3_2.mp4
Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance. --MYself (talk) 15:54, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Bump. I found the mw:Extension:Html5mediator that will allow me to do so. --MYself (talk) 22:29, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- Another bump. Is there a way to make these files playable on my wiki without reencoding them (no Youtube, etc.), or redirecting the user? If it's possible, I would also like to prevent uploading them directly on the wiki to minimize server load. A possible solution would be to develop an extension for ShoutWiki, which modifies the aforementioned extension to replicate the behaviour of the HTML5
<video>
tag, so it will redirect the input URL to the default HTML5 player that comes within the web browser and leaves the playback handling on it. The syntax should stay the same as it's with mw:Extension:YouTube:
