Forum:How to change the licence in my Wiki's footer
Forums: Index → Community help
I just created a new Wiki, I think I choose some "book" style. The footer states:
"Content is available under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 unless otherwise noted"
I want to change it to version 4.0. How do I achieve that?
This type of licence message also appears whenever I edit a page. Can I change the licence there too?

- Edit MediaWiki:Copyright on your wiki. Rock-O-Jello (talk) 22:28, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
- No problem. 😉 As for the icon, try sending ShoutWiki an e-mail via Special:Contact. Rock-O-Jello (talk) 20:30, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
How can I change what the contents of the $1 calls for the URL and the link text?
Over at the MediaWiki site, it mentions altering either $wgRightsPage or $wgRightsUrl but not sure the correct location of those variables.
Basically I want to change the text of the link that is called via $1 in the footer to read "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0" and the link to the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ instead of the 3.0 listed and the link to the https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ that was set by default when my wiki was started. – Mitchell Gore (talk) 00:37, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
