Hello,

I am an admin on alternatehistory.shoutwiki.com and have been trying to upload svg files for use on projects there. However, I noticed a lot of large svg files do not render thumbnails. This can be seen with the following uploads:

http://alternatehistory.shoutwiki.com/wiki/File:Flag_of_China_(1889–1912).svg

http://alternatehistory.shoutwiki.com/wiki/File:Grandes_Armes_Imp%C3%A9riales_(1804-1815).svg

If I try to add thumbnails of these images on pages, they will only display the file link. I did some browsing on mediawiki's website, and they said that it can be raised in the LocalSettings.php file, but only staff has access to that. I was wondering if our wiki could get ours raised as the files are necessary for our projects.

Staff don't check this forum sometimes. Try contacting them at troppusmoc.ikiwtuohs.
Oh, if anyone else is wondering what needs to be changed, I think it's wgSvgMetadataCutoff per this. -Merry Christmas from stranger195 (talkcontribsguestbook) 10:51, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
User also filed a ticket straight after filing this, FYI. Solution is actually this, which we've locally patched until we've finally rolled 1.34. --Lewis Cawte (talk) ShoutWiki Staff 13:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
