My wiki needs a forum where future members could discuss various topic about the project. I may try to copy-paste some forum templates from here, and implement the forums by myself, but I don't want to violate any license (by using others work without permission), and also, there are more ways do this, like using an extension, therefore I would like to hear some advice from a more experienced staff here, before I start working on this. Thank you in advance. --MYself (talk) 21:31, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
- Bump. The forum should be simple to implement, and reliable but I have currently no idea what path should I choose (if possible, some open and widely used protocol should be used to allow interaction using software, like Pidgin, etc.). Should I pick the same option as here, use an extension (if so, which one?), or maybe a different site? Does someone have any experience with this? Also, advice about implementing would be great. --MYself (talk) 16:01, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- I noticed at User talk:Jack Phoenix that someone asked there recently for a forum to be implemented on their wiki, and Jack implemented it. I assume it is this forum extension. I don't know. So if you are happy with this forum format maybe ask there for this specific forum extension to be implemented on your wiki. From my limited reading it seems most other forum extensions are not well maintained, and at least the developers here understand this one somewhat.
- The thread I am referring to is titled: "forum on polish hub ShoutWiki". --Timeshifter (talk) 16:53, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
- If it helps any, this is the forum extension I think is generally used. Llwy-ar-lawr (talk) 01:16, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

- Forum extension is now enabled on my wiki thanks to Cook879 (follow the link above for an explanation). Although the forum itself isn't implemented yet, it will take me only time to figure out how to do it. Since the main problem has been resolved, I'm marking this thread as solved. Many thanks to all who helped me. --MYself (talk) 20:22, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
